Overview
I redesigned and combined the Aura spa and Bang Salon websites into a unified experience for two sister businesses that share locations, clients, and services but previously operated on separate websites.
The goal was to make it easier for clients to understand available services, discover related salon and spa offerings, find the right location, and book with more confidence.
UX Problem
Since the original websites were designed, both businesses have evolved. Aura spa had expanded beyond traditional spa services to include wellness and longevity treatments, many of which were new to the audience and required more explanation. The old site did not have enough space to clearly explain what each service was, what to expect, how long it would take, whether a telehealth visit was required, or how pricing and packages worked.
Bang Salon had a similar clarity issue. Services were listed without descriptions, which meant users had to already know what each service meant before booking.
At the same time, Aura spa and Bang Salon were introducing new packages, memberships, and bundled services, creating more opportunities for clients to book across both businesses. The separate websites made that crossover harder to see, and joined packages impossible to book.
Solution
I designed a unified website structure that brought both brands into one connected experience while giving each service more room to educate and convert.
For Aura spa, I created expanded service sections for spa, wellness, and longevity offerings, with space for service descriptions, benefits, what to expect, timing, telehealth requirements, pricing, series options, and package savings.
For Bang Salon, I added service descriptions to make the menu easier to understand and less reliant on users' familiarity with salon terminology.
I also introduced secondary anchored navigation so users could quickly jump to the category they were looking for, like massage, facials, haircuts, color, or longevity services, while still being exposed to related offerings along the way.
Because Aura spa and Bang Salon operate across multiple locations in DC and Virginia, I also made service availability clearer throughout the experience. Not every location offers salon services, spa services, or wellness treatments, so the redesigned site needed to help users understand which services were available where before trying to book
Outcome
The redesigned website created a more connected digital experience for both businesses. It supported cross-booking between salon and spa clients, provided new wellness services with the educational content they needed, improved pricing and package presentation, and made it easier for users to find the right service at the right location.
